The 22-acre conservancy borders and encompasses Atlantic Ocean, Shallotte Inlet, Intracoastal Waterway, beautiful large sand dunes covered in sea oats, and vast pristine saltwater savanna property. It is home to a large family of little red foxes, deer, Great Blue Herons, Snowy White Egrets, Ibis, Plovers, Sandpipers, Fiddler Crabs, Blue Crabs, Sea Gulls, Ospreys, Oyster Catchers, Skimmers, Pelicans, Loons, Cormorants and Clams, On the backside of this gorgeous property is a salt water marsh that meanders off the Intracoastal Waterway. This fragile ecosystem is a natural nursery estuary for sea birds, oysters, clams, crabs, and many different species of fish. These babies are born and grow up in this protected pristine marsh environment.

Recorded History shows beaches erode East to West. The East end of Ocean Isle Beach is located across the Shallotte Inlet from Holden Beach West. Ocean Isle continues to lose sand from it's East end, which erodes across the inlet and onto the shores of Holden Beach West, thus for years Holden Beach West has continued to accumulate sand and enjoy a wide white sandy beach.
