A Typical Day on Holden Beach!

Wake up to the sound of the ocean and seagulls, sip coffee while watching the sun rise over the ocean from your rocking chair, take a morning swim and head back to the cottage for breakfast. Grab the crab bait & nets, walk over to the tidal marsh and catch 3 dozen blue crabs. Take your fishing pole because you might catch a flounder or two. Head back home with your catch, wash off the fishing poles, put the crabs in the frig. & go sailing for the next 4 hours. Come home, shower, and take a leisurely stroll down the beach. Take a bucket, because your pockets aren't big enough to bring home all the shells you will find. For dinner it's fresh crabs, flounder, slaw and baked potatoes. After dinner enjoy a velvet ocean breeze from the hammock, and watch a large pod of porpoise swim by as the sky burst into color with a glorious sunset. Now I ask you, Is this paradise? So you wanted to play golf too? Go ahead! There are over 25 golf courses within a 15-minute drive, and over 100 within a 30-minute drive. You and the children wanted to rent 4 jet skis? Go ahead! There are plenty of places to rent jet skis on the Intracoastal Waterway. You wanted to go deep-sea fishing? Not a problem, because there are several excellent charter boats to choose from. Want to bring your own boat so you can water ski, explore different islands, go fishing, claming, or pull up to a waterfront café' for lunch? Not a problem! Holden Beach has a wonderful marina where you can rent a boat slip for a day, or a year. If you don't want to fool around with gasing up your boat or filling your on board cooler with ice, just call the marina before you leave the cottage, and they will have your boat full of gas, ice and ready to go when you get there, southern hospitality style. Just cast the lines off and have a great day on the water. What more could you ask for? ………Holden Beach is a paradise.
